Hello!

I’m Crystal Bruce, Senior Customer Advocacy Program Manager - Community. I run the Blackbaud Community!

Thoughts about AI: I’ve been in two company co-horts exploring different AI tools. The last one was Microsoft Co-Pilot. I still have access & my department (Marketing) is running experiments on creating content with AI. So far, I’ve been incredibly impressed with writing prompts and one-off forum sentiment analysis. Excited to learn more!

Hi Crystal! Glad to hear you are impressed. I think we're on the cusp of doing way way more with these tools :)

Hi!

I'm LaKeisha. I am Sr. Support for Bevy, chapter director for Startup Grind and I am launching my own company summer 2024. I've been working on helping traditional non-tech businesses understand how to use digital tools for customer discovery, engagement, and retention. I like to use AI to ideate for events, programming, and topics. I've shifted my focus in Startup Grind from hosting fireside chats to being more community-minded and providing a place for founders to meet and engage with each other.

Welcome in Lakeisha! So great to see you here after all the times you have helped me solve so many items in the Bevy platform. Now we're using it in a whole new way!

I am so excited to see what you build this summer!

What’s up everyone? Ben here. I’m a Community Manager at Quickbase.

Limited use with AI, namely chatGPT for crafting ideas and program outlines. I’d love to use it as a way to measure what my community is struggling with, reduce the amount of surveys, manual interventions used to understand current temperature.

Excited to share and learn from this community.

Ben! I'm so grateful that you joined!

Heads up that Your Link didn't come through, this Community is built on a brand new platform and doesn't have every single kink worked out yet.

I posted your LI here so folks can connect :)

Hey everyone! I'm Casey Monroe, CM for 18 years and running, most recently the Community Advocacy Manager at Intel. My contract expires at the end of June so I'm looking for new work and always trying to find ways to improve my skills.

I'm curious about this because I haven't seen a whole lot yet that would indicate that there's much potential to use AI tools for community management purposes, but I want to talk to people who don't share that opinion so I can learn.

Hey Casey! Hoping we can enlighten you with more AI knowledge during our event next week.

I think you will have your opinion changed to the other side (believing that AI tools have major implications for Community Management purposes)!

Posting the event link here so it is easy to find for those interested: https://bevy.com/community-ai-crew/community-ai-crew-virtual-kickoff/

Hey all! Been meaning to join this group for weeks!

My name's Dylan and I'm the VP of Marketing at AmplifAI. AmplifAI equips customer service leaders with personalized AI-driven coaching recommendations for their frontline agents/reps based on where they need the most guidance (e.g., empathy, customer satisfaction, upselling, resolution time, etc.).

When it comes to AI, I'm most excited about the visual creations AI has been making. Can't wait to get my hands on Photoshop, Midjourney, or a similar tool if anyone is open to pw-sharing. I'm most nervous about AI voice impersonations. Too many people are getting scammed out there and I think this will make it way easier for bad actors.

I joined because I've been in the AI space for almost a decade and I heard through the grapevine that Aaron Weiss is one of the best community marketers in the business. I'm happily surprised by how many other community marketers there are in this group. Excited to learn from you and share what I can!

Hey Dylan! Stoked to have you here.

  • I've been having fun making posters for projects I've been working on with Bing's AI image generator, it works decently enough for me!

  • I hear you re: AI voice scams. A close friend got a call from their "brother" who had been "kidnapped" - the kidnapper demanded bitcoin be sent to an address. It wasn't their brother but the bitcoin was sent :(

Looking forward to having your perspective as a marketer in the group!

Great to be here.

  1. I am Wilder -- Live in SF -- Work at Clari -- play a lot of baseball - working on Digital Self-Serve and Success

  2. Few people talk about how Chatbots integrate into other internal systems and tech stacks, so that's what I am thinking about

  3. You can find me here www.linkedin.com/in/wilder

Love that this group will be walking on the Wilder side :)

Hello everyone!

Gertie here from the Philippines. :) My most recent job was in a local personal development company, and even though I'm not the Community and Social Media Manager anymore, I still have the "Magical Megaphone" title. I'm still active in that community, but I wish to find more opportunities in community management and eventually build my side project <3

AI can be beneficial or harmful, depending on who trains it and the intentions behind their use. :) I use AI in the form of ChatGPT and otehr writing AI tools.

Here's my LinkedIn account! Let's connect (for whatever purpose it may serve as long as it's sfw hahaha) https://www.linkedin.com/in/gertrudeanmari

So glad you are here Gertrude!

Hey everyone! I'm Beth, Director of Community at CMX. I'm very interested in the conversation around AI and I'm excited to join these discussions!

I'm currently in the position where I'm really excited about AI, and am ready and open for it to change my work for the better, but have no idea where to begin. I've been using Chat GPT a lot in my work lately, but I'm not sure what other tools there are that can accomplish things that Chat GPT can't...?

Here's my linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bethmcintyre/

:-)

Welcome in Beth! Stoked to get your perspective in the group and working on future events together :)

Hi there!

I'm Jennifer Gladden, Community Product Specialist at Gainsight (Previously inSided).

I continue to be amazed (and a little scared) by the quickness of ai growth. I am using ai now to help build upon my ideas. Chatgpt, Claud, etc

https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenniferpegramgladden/

Thanks for spearheading this, Aaron!

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to the group! Have you tried Perplexity yet?

Hi Everyone,

I'm Manik, and I just started in the field of communities as a community manager at a non-profit cybersecurity society called "Association for Cyber Security".

Thoughts about AI - AI can surely be a great tool for communities. We can make templates, and plans, and brainstorm ideas and there are many more things that can now be done quickly and easily. But still, the human touch is necessary.

Let's Connect: Linkedin

Feeling great to be a part of this wonderful community :)

Hi Manik! So glad you are here! There are some really cool cyber security communities out there! Are you a part of this group? https://cybersecuritymarketingsociety.com/

Hello! I'm Denise and I am a community builder living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I help lead the marketing team at Bevy as a consultant. I am also the community manager for The Seekers Society and The Earth Society at The Battery in San Francisco. I lead community and communications at Metamorphosis, which supports individuals and leaders with transformational practices, retreats and ceremonies. I'm a mom of teenager boy/girl twins who are just learning to drive! I was hoping AI self driving cars would be ready in time for them but that reality isn't here yet.

I love AI and have been an early adopter of AI tools and am working on becoming more expert at generative AI prompts. I use ChatGPT to help evolve my personal transformation and get smarter about my own challenges, including how to parent my twins in a more aligned way and how to improve my productivity as well as personal relationships using AI. I also love exploring the latest AI tools for marketing, writing, content production and community building and am happy to participate here with the Community AI Crew! Thanks Aaron for creating this space for connection and collaboration.

HI DENISE! So glad to have you here! You have so so so many cool projects, I think the Battery Communities are the ones I want to talk to you about most!

AI is going to save us from many things, unfortunately, teen drivers are not one of them... yet!

If you (all members here including Aaron) live in the San Francisco Bay Area, please DM me as I often host Seekers events at The Battery and would be happy to invite you to join an upcoming event and grab coffee/tea/mocktails and talk community, consciousness, ceremony, seeking meaningful connections and making an impact in our professional as well as personal lives!

Hello all! I'm a community manager for the Microsoft Tech Community, working most closely with Azure teams (including the Azure AI team pretty extensively).

That said, while I work with subject matters experts in AI as far as their use of our community, I am just starting to learn and explore what's out there for my own knowledge.

I am curious about how AI will change things and I know our company has really had a huge focus on Copilot and these new technologies.

I also have a past life as an actor, a member of the unions, and so the Scarlett Johanssen stolen voice bit has me a bit nervous about some of the misdirections this technology can take.

Welcome in Eric! I am so excited to have you in the Community given that you're managing Ai experts! I would love to get your take on how AI experts come together.

Are there any differences between AI community members and members of other Communities you've managed? Could be cool to write a post on this!

It's hard to say. Our AI team tends to be more focused on blogging than our forums (our Khoros community hosts a few very active blogs for them) but we do love it when their teams do events in the community such as AMAs (which we call Ask Microsoft Anything). We've done about three of them this fiscal year and we're trying to get more on the books.

We had a ton of success with "Ask Square Anythings" - I would imagine the traction you get in the Microsoft Community is even bigger!

Hi there!

My name's Owen and I work in public school finance.

It isn't clear right now what impact AI is going to have on the public school finance space, but I'm excited to follow this community to see what is happening with AI in other industries!

https://www.linkedin.com/in/owenclapp/

Hey Owen! Love to have you in this Community. I would recommend Perplexity as an AI to try. Asking it questions about public school finance and accounting would be a great place to start.

My suggestion: Visit perplexity.ai and ask "What are the top 10 tips or resources you'd recommend for someone working in public school finance?" - I bet you'll get great stuff!
