December Product and Engineering Highlights

Manually Add Event Attendees

We reintroduced capability for event organizers to register attendees before, during, or after events. Manually added attendees will receive all event-related email notifications.

Cohosted Events

Multiple chapters can now host an event together! Collaborating chapters can share the event with their members and display within their upcoming events or newsletters. Collaborating chapters can select events they want to share with their members, and hosts can see other chapters involved. In addition, collaborating chapters can track and see their attendees. This is a huge deal!

Admin Report Download Center

We added two new engagement reports to the Admin Report Download Center in beta analytics. Virtual Session Engagement reports show engagement statistics at the session level (for Bevy Virtual Conference events) or the event level (for Bevy Virtual events). The Virtual Engagement report shows attendee-level engagement with your Bevy Virtual and Bevy Virtual Conference events. The existing Virtual dashboards now also include data from your Bevy Virtual events.

Check out the reference guide.

Increased Data Refresh Rate

Beta dashboards now refresh every 2 hours instead of every 24 hours and each dashboard shows the last time it was updated. Report and iterate on your community metrics more quickly.

Improved Developer Velocity

We’re shipping features and fixes faster than ever by investing in improving our development lifecycle. We've introduced tools to manage our deployments and optimize our build and test pipelines.

Building Infrastructure that Scales

With growth comes technical challenges and we're addressing the tech-debt elephant in the room. By revamping how we handle asynchronous customer workloads and implementing more infrastructure as code, we've built a more consistent platform for customers.

Resolved Issues

Highlights of issues resolved.

•Virtual screen share - A suboptimal screen layout and visibility of shared content.•Outlook Calendar - Not inserting event information into the calendar description.

•Forms/surveys - Could be submitted with no responses to required questions.•Preview automated emails - Did not reflect updates after republishing an event.

•Added display error message - When a virtual user's client is not able to communicate with the server due to connectivity issues.

The Bevy team takes its Winter Break between Dec 19 and Dec 30. Therefore, our ability to reply to some tickets will be slower during that time frame; however, don't worry! We will still focus on urgent and time-constrained tickets during that time. Thanks for your patience.

Happy Holidays! See you in 2023!
